Default Punta Cana resorts

I am planning a vacation in Feb. 2001 and considering Punta Cana.I have never been to the country. Any thoughts to an all inclusive there or general views of the Dominican Republic as a vacation destination would be appreciated greatly. Thanks George.

Hi George;

It's not too obvious from your addess as to where you are. However, I live on the west coast of Canada and am just about to go next week and pay for my fourth visit to the DR.

We went, initially, on the recommendation of a travel agent and have never regretted it. Our destination has always been Puerto Plata and we have stayed at Gran Ventana. I am sure, however, that the resorts in Punta Cana are equally as good. We do go for the all-inclusive package, which may or may not be available to you. At any rate the weather is beautiful, the accomodation and food marvellous and we, as you may judge, thoroughly recomnmed it.

If you want more please feel free to email me direct.

Bob

Hello George, My wife and I went to the Melia Caribe last Feb 00.
It is part of Melia Caribe and Tropical Caribe to identical resorts side by side. We had an excellent time. The resort is beautiful and first class. There are, if I remember correct, 8 restaurants, 3 or 4 that are not buffet and service is tops.
I would go back there anytime without second thoughts. We walked the beach and thru some other resorts they all looked good some bigger than others, talked to some people didn't hear anything negative about any resorts. Only being there once that's all I can tell you.
Good luck George (that's my name also)

Hi George

I just made our reservations for our second trip to the Ibeostar Bavaro. It is not as big as the Melia Properties, but it to has anything one could imagine or want and for a couple hundred dollars less. If you have and questions, feel free to e-mail me at mwarnock@independence.k12.oh.us.
