Are you referring to the "Mona Straits"? The body of water between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic? This post may be part of a thread I missed, if so, sorry.

I have never been there can anyone tell me about this Mona Straits? I would like to know of the water depth and mostly tough seas or? Can you dive there or ?

Canal de la Mona is possible to dive, done it several times myself. You can go by boat from Bayahibe, but the problem is to get across the reef with the boat and onto the drop off. Depending on currents, breaking waves throw the boat back, and you have to turn around and go back. But, if you do get in the water, it's a place where you see sharks (if you're lucky).

Mona Straights is a narrow passage of water between th D.R. and Puerto Rico and it can be very treacherous certain times of the year,mostly in the winter months. Depth, there are reefs in between,however the drop offs can go to 1000 meters.
And yes, it is noted for the many sharks in the area.
