With the recent rise in Scandanavian tourist, there is also the rise in Scandaniavin residents. In the North Coast you will find Norweigans, Swedes, Finnish, and Danish from Samana to Luperon.

Most of the Scandanavian permenant residents are concentrated in the Puerto Plata/Cofresi/Costambar area. There are a few business owned by Scandanavians in Puerto Plata.
