Default 60hz to 50hz

Can anyone tell me if there is a device that will allow a 50HZ dishwasher from Germany operate on a 60HZ power source in the Dominican Republic?

You can buy a converter to change the electricity from AC 60Hz to DC, and then back to AC 50Hz, but it is an expensive solution. You may be better off buying a new machine.

First you must check the voltage of the machine if it is 220 volts. You must have 220 in your home. As far as the 50 herts your machines timer will run faster giving shorter wash cycles.
Once you get used to that by setting your timer higher than you would at home it will work fine here.

Thanks for the responses to my question.

The machine in question doesn't belong to me. I'm trying to get information for a friend. None-the-less, she still needs help. She told me that it's a very expensive machine and it's the control portion of the machine that won't run on 60 cycles.

If anyone else has any more information, please pass it on.

You can also tell her I have a frequency meter here in my shop and monitor the voltage and herts all the time. The frequency varrys from about 52 to 60 herts. So if shey needs exact herts. Tell her to sell the thing as it will never work here. The machines LG sold at plaza lama are very good and work fine.
