Bachata Music

I was in the D.R. over Christmas, 2000 and heard a particular piece of bachata music being played over and over. I asked about it and was told it was by either Luis Vargas or Raulin Rodriquez. Can anyone confirm which artist had a hit song over the Christmas period and , if so, what is the name of the song and the C.D. it is on.

We were there last november. There was one artist that was very populair. His name was Zacherias Fereirra. Name of his song: El triste, Dame un beso, etc. Good luck!

I also was there over Christmas and I also enjoyed the music. Once I was passing buy a small store that sold CDs etc. and I asked what the name of the song I was hearing. I was told it was by Raulin Rodriguez and the CD is called Arrancame la Vida. Not sure if its Bachata or Merrenge, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it as I do alot.

At Christmas probably the most popular bachata piece was Alex Bueno's "Que Vuelva". The tune is very catchy and stays with you for a long time. After that Zacarias' tunes were also big.

I head Raulin Rodriguez a lot over Christmas - "Arrancame la vida" and "dos mujeres para mi" It's Bachata.

Thank you to all who have responded. I will follow up with the various suggestions and should end up with some great Bachata music one way or the other.
