More snorkelling advice please! We're staying at my evil mother in law's home this summer in Sto Domingo. I want to take the kids (ages 9-14) snorkelling for the first time and don't want to have to go too far. Is this park good a good choice?

Go the extra 10 minutes it will take to get you to Boca Chica. The underwater park is great for diving, but I wouldn't recommend it for snorkeling...especially for children. The beach is very small...just big enough for fishermen and divers to launch their boats...and the water can be rough.

Boca Chica is calm and shallow...much better for first timers.
