For a Dominican? To go to where? Probably no. Santo Domingo and that depends which country. If USA or Canada, forget it.

What about other countries? Which ones are easier to get a visitors visa and which are more difficult. How do the European countries compare?

You can pick up the Application for a Visitors Visa in POP, but it has to be brought to Santo Domingo when completed, then it goes off to Haiti for approval.

Tourist visa for entire European community may prove difficult, because of Schengen agreement. Entrance to UK or France very restricted at the moment. Overall, if you can show you have sufficient funds for expenses during stay and have return ticket, most countries will not refuse. Always check with local representative on any additional restrictions.

No, a visa must be applied for at the Dominican consulate in the USA.

Very few people apply for a tourist visa because it's easier to just buy a toruist card, which can be bought upon arrival for US$10 or can be bought at the gate or ticket counter in Newark, JFK, Miami, and San Juan airports.

I stand corrected, However I went to the Dominican Consulate in Washington DC and they told me they were no longer offering the multi-year tourist visa. I just assumed they were trying to make more money by having you buy the tourist card for each visit.
