Who was David Stern?

Richard's walk around Sosua reminded me of something I've been curious about for quite some time. On his walk he crossed Calle David Stern. When I was young, in law school and still had hair, I studied international law under a Professor David Stern who was intimately familiar with Latin American nations, politics and in particular, constitutions of Latin American nations. Can anybody from Sosua tell me who the David Stern was that the Calle was named after?

Sylvie Papernik who owns Hotel Tropix and was born in Sosua told me Chris that the David Stern the street is named after was a doctor in Sosua, back in the 1940s. Personal regards Chris. Hopefully I'll see you in April in Sosua. My best to your lady friend. Richard
