Default I started to do a long post on this, but

It is enough to say that both Bradors and Capriles (both in the phone Book)are good places to visit. Both have their own workshops and designers. Capriles even has a place in the Duty Free in Santo Domingo Airport..

Good Luck

Where in DR are you going? Last year in PP I asked my local friends where was the best place to shop for some gold and silver chains for the kids. There response was that there really wasn't and took me to a store where they purchased it- a second hand jewelry store. Came out with what I consider to be some pretty good deals.

Default If you know about jewelery, that is a good way

to do it. There are lots of hock shops (Casas de Empeño or Monte de Piedad) with what I guess might be good stuff, but I am NOT a jeweler!!

In the streets of Santiago - on el calle del sol there are dozens
of vendors who all seem to have signs that they buy and sell
gold..
