Default cabarete/sosua casinos?

Still trying to work out the logistics of our 3/14-3/22 trip. Flying into SDQ, but my buddy, who is leaving a few days earlier than myself wants to visit a casino. I told him the casinos are different than Vegas, Atlantic City, etc., but he still would like a visit. We're looking at heading to Cabarete, but I'm not sure where the closest "decent" casino would be? Playa Dorada? And, if the casinos are on all-inclusive resort properties, would they allow non-guests to come in and play? Thanks in advance.

You will be welcome at any casinos you wish to visit. You should look it up on old posts here. Most all posts tell everyone to use caution when in the casinos. Just a week or two back I think Jim posted a nice note to watch out for some not so great games going on. Have a great trip and use caution in casinon in the DR>

If you're in Sosua check out the Playa Chiquita casino. It's small but has blackjack, roulette, slots, caribbean poker, and some other games. If you must be in a huge casino, go to Playa Dorada. The blackjack rules at PC are very cool - early surrender, double down on anything, endless splits.

DO NOT check out the casino, or at the very least, leave your credit cards at home when you do. Playa Chiquita is currently home of Guido the con artist, an American 'dealer' who lies and cheats your money away from you. Please see our posting titled "Casino Scam/ Progressive Roulette" for further warning. Don't believe anyone who tells you the casinos are fine, they are probably getting a cut from the con.
