El Catey Airport BIG PROBLEM

Several days ago I heard that all work had stopped at the new el Catey airport due to a construction problem. It seems that test borings made indicate the site topography (which looks suspiciously like a former rice field) is unsuitable to support the weight of a runway and it's heavy jets.
When I passed by the site this past Monday, all that could be seen was a newly made, half-finished dirt road to nowhere and a construction trailer/office by the highway with several labobrers sitting in the doorway.
You may recall the arguments I've made in the past to finish Samana's existing, new airport at Arroyo Barril despite the problems with extending the existing runway to accommodate international jets. In now seems that this may be the only viable, timely recourse to provide us with our long-promised airport.
