Becoming a real estate agent in DR

I am a real estate broker in Florida. I would like to know how does one become a broker or agent in Santo Domingo. I would love to live in DR again. I lived there 82' to 86 and visited again in 1990 and I really miss it there. I was born in New York and my father is dominican and my mother puerto rican. Can anyone give me info on what I would have to do?

I worked as a broker on the north coast of the DR for a few months, along with 4 - 6 other foreigners. To the best of my knowledge, no level of governemnt in the DR authorizes or regulates the selling of real estate. Anyone can call himself/herself a broker & work; provided she has a current cedula & residencia; even this requirement is questionable. Good luck. A tough business.
