shipping a car to the domincian republic

I need to find about shipping a cAR to the domincian republic. As far as how much it will cost and , how the cost is caculated on the end once it arrives in the domicain republic? also what kind of paper work is nedded in order to pick it up in the domincian republic.

Kenny If you decide to ship your car to the DR, make sure you take out your stero equipment and take out plenty of insurance!

I can tell you a story about a 1979 Mercedes turbo deisel bought in the US for $3,000. When it was shipped to the DR we found out the duty was over $16,000... we never let it off the ship but sent it to San Juan instead where it was sold.

Duties on cars depend upon the year, model, engine type, etc. It is imperative to get a list of the current taxes and then decide if you want to ship a car. These days it is better to buy one a used one in the DR. There are some good buys if you look around.
