To register or not?

Need some advice from those who are married to Dominicans in Canada. I recently got married and he and I are doing the paper work to bring him here. Now I have not read this any where on the immigrations papers but have heard through the people that I should register our marriage here in Ontario.... this speeds up the process, however we plan on getting married here. Can someone please give me some advice to register or not and will it speed up the process? how do I go about doing that and which MP do I speak to about getting help?
