Let me just say that I have lived here for 10 years but in a "retired status." I vacationed here for some 15 years off and on before I made the final move. I do not regret it however, there was a great deal to get used to. FIRST and foremost, LIVING HERE is far different that VACATIONING HERE. All the difference in the world. My advice is to come for an extended visit if you can arrange it...like for six months, before you chuck your career and ties in Chicago. AND, as the previous post said....do not do this for anyone but YOURSELF! Relationships can change. I think it is a great place but you may not have the same ideas about wants and needs that I do. CHEERS.
