Re: TIPPING/MONEY
I agree totally, I see some ppl giving old running shoes to thier maids and t-shirts to thier bartenders and it makes me mad/laugh at the same time. I'm a professional tradesman and I know if someone came up to me and gave me a stinky old pair of shoes after I was done my job, I would have to try to hold my comments in. I, as most would much rather have a cash tip, so as I can decide if I want to purchase a old pair of runners or maybe I could be in the market for some more food for my family. But don't get me wrong if all you have to give is the stinky old shoes, I maybe could give them to someone that could use them, but I would prefer MONEY. The point I'm trying to get across is that most of the Dominicans that work in the resorts and tourist area's, are not in need so much to be, "happier than ****" for a used piece of clothing, If you have that type of stuff go out into the barrios and find some families that could really use it.And you will notice what ones need it, as they won't be wearing anything. As for the bartenders and such, money is the answer, just as it would be for yourself. Now this is my opinion only, this does not make it the rule, treat your friends in the D.R., I believe as you yourself would like to be treated.
