There are leagues all over the country - one popular league is Baloncesto Superior de Santiago - which Felipe Lopez of Saint JOhns and the Timberwolves played in.

Are there any regulations about how many foreigners may play per team?

I think there is a limit on the number of foreign players on each team. I don't think most teams use their limit. I met a few Americans playing on the team in SFM 10 years ago. They were guys who played a few years of college ball and dropped out. They were getting paid something, but it wasn't very much. Maybe someone on the board has more recent knowledge of the league.

I believe each team can have 1 or maybe two foreigner players plus one or two dominicans from abroad (usually New York).
