Air Santo Domingo RT Airfare to PC and Excursions?

Didn't see the airfare info for flight from SD to Punta Cana on the DR1 link to Air Santo Domingo, can anyone offer any info on it? I have a Lonely Planet book, says about $50US but doesn't say if it is one way or RT. There was some mention in peoples feedback elsewhere, that only well traveled persons would feel comfortable to fly in the small planes of Air Santo Domingo, if this is true, then we might be in trouble, cause we haven't flown much. It would help us get to and from the East Coast on a time limit for sure.
Also any feedback or info on the many excursions offered by them, sounds very interesting.
