Re: Adoption of dominican boy
Well, well, well I am into one of those cases right now! I tell you what, it is very (I mean it!) expensive, very complicated (lots of time) and a lawyer will take (need) a big amount of money to get the things and paperworks done! This is al done to protect the children from beeing sold by their parents, but I am not shure, if this is the main reason, as the paperwork is so complicated and you have to bring lots of (in my eyes) unnessesary documents (like a hole fotoalbum proving your are together for that amount of time etc.!).
My lawyer told he would not touch any further case of adoption unless the client is willing to pay about RD$ 80'000.- (about USD 4'800.-) plus stamps! The reason for this is in this year they added some new laws and requirements to the old existing ones! (and some papers have to be deposited within a month ore they just expire and it starts all over again!) And this with this slow working country!
Think about it again!
