Default For Henrry

"But the bigger point is - the people over here do not know how to treat their neightbours good or their own fellows on the road, so what do you expect them to do with animals?

This is a problem from the roots and these are pretty deep!

Henry "

Just what exactly you mean by that?

Default Re: For Henry

This, my friend, I mean is a point which could cause lots of discussion, I would look for the roots here:

- Then years ago people where not only friendly, but also
respectful to visitors! Today I find lots of occacions
where to me unkown persons just ask for money! (Now if you
give it to them, you are a "pendejo" and if not you are bad!)

- With the onmove of the so called "civilization" the people
over here got more possibilities like buying a car, motorbike
or buying a house / apt. etc. These not so long ago where
privileges to some upper class people. Now all the "newcomers"
sort of think they are better than the others and behave
themselfes that way. (How often do you have to give way to a
Mercedes over here avoiding an accident!)

- In many countries I have seen, that when the so called leader-
ships left, the people thought, they now can be boss - and no-
body was doing the work anynore!

The point is, human beeings have a great need to be important and to express this to other people! (The second and third point are some of the results of this!)

How many wars are going on on this planet and have been just for some ideas of some "important persons" no matter how the civilians have to suffer?

The other thing is what I believe, the more humans are living together, the more we are back to the wild, as the interhuman relations got lost! (In NY you are a number, in the province you may are a person the others say good morning!)

I would appreciate it and give my part to have a better world and to care more for the others than looking only for your own business, but it is not always easy!

Helping people giving right answers and advices on this board is a small droplet to it!

To the better

Henry

Default Re: ¡Hola! Sr. Henry :)

Kind Sir,

My I ask you two questions?

1. How long have lived in Santo Domingo?

2. May I inquire as to the type of your business or your field of employment?

3. Do you travel around the DR extensively?

The purpose of my inquiry will help understand in what way you make daily contact with people on a one to one bases. I'm simple trying to understand your background and how it was instrumental in forming the opinion you've put forward.

I've explained Henry's message to my wife and asked for some of her views on it's subject matter. Let's do it this way:

>>> "Then years ago people where not only friendly, but also respectful to visitors!"

la Sra. "I agree 100% with what Henry is saying."

>>> "With the onmove of the so called "civilization" the people over here got more possibilities like buying a car, motorbike or buying a house / apt. etc. These not so long ago where privileges to some upper class people. Now all the "newcomers" sort of think they are better than the others and behave hemselfes that way."

la Sra. "Money doesn't automatically give a person good manners, if you start out in life with out the good fortune to have a proper upbringing then your rough edges will always be showing."

I'll add this, "Nuevoyorks"

>>> " In many countries I have seen, that when the so called leader-ships left, the people thought, they now can be boss - and no- body was doing the work anyone!"

la Sra. "In the time of Juan Bosh the edicts of socialism brought on a change in public demeanor of certain citizens, elements in the country took to the idea that everyone was equal regardless."

I'll add, if you take all money from a wealth man and give it to five poor men, would the five men of new means behave the same as the first man? Or would this be the case, one man (the money guy) that's really P.... OFF, and back stabbing SOBs trying steal every thing from each other?

>>> "The point is, human beeings have a great need to be important and to express this to other people! (The second and third point are some of the results of this!)"

I'll add, "five backstabbn' SOBs and the p..... off guy making lots of noise. . .

>>> "Helping people giving right answers and advices on this board is a small droplet to it!"

I'll add, the "bucket theory", keep up the good work, Henry, and thanks for trying. . .

Regards,

. . . CES

Default Well CES (and everybody else!)

PLease leave the "Sir", I am just a member of the human beeings like everybody else!

To you questions:

I live in this country since 1995, but know it for much longer! Also I had a friend (American) who lived here a big part of his life and we where discussing quite often! And not to forget, my wife is Dominican and lived almost her entire life over here!

When I got here first I traveled all over the country for five month and still like doing it (but not for that long anymore!)! Also I know a lot of people in town (Santo Domingo) and elsewhere!

I own a jewelry shop in the capital with 5 employees.

Not to forget I was traveling in many parts of this planet and got quite an expierience of different attitudes in different countries!

May I add some aspects to the point of "when the socalled leaderships left...":

In Tanzania and Kenia where wellgoing farms, after they thrown out the white man, everything fell in, thanks to this we have now some of the most beautiful national parks in this region! This happened in variations in may places (and still is happening!)! Comunissm to me is not a solution as common property is nobodys property and therefore noone looks after it! The true communism is rather like that: some leading members have all the rights and economic pover! (Russia / China) I believe true democratic force is still the best option! But I am aware the problem lies excactly in the word "true"!

Just some thoughts but lets not get lost in politics!

OK! . . . Then Henry it is . . .

A "true democratic force" and a gang of politicians make for "strange bed fellows", just because we vote in elections doesn't necessarily guarantee our voice will be heard. To have a truly democratic government EVERY citizen MUST participate, just look what happened in FLORIDA, USofA.

Besides "rominó" is much more fun. . . )

Thanks Henry, for your time and answers. . .

Best regards,

. . . CES
