Info Please on a Plastic Surgeon here in the DR ?

Grupo Medico Dr.Bournigal, Puerto Plata.
A very good friend of mine is going next month to this Cuban DR. for extensive work!
I have tried to tell her that she should not get it done here.
Can anyone give me some information on this DR. good or bad before my friend pays him the RD.$300.000 ($18.000 US)
to have her face, arms, legs and breasts done.
Or even better give details of a better DR. here.

In the Dominican Republic, for starters.
Second, with the outstanding doctors in Santo Domingo, why go to some thrid rater in POP?
Just a little research will show this to be true...Plus the medical facilities are much much better in Santiago or Santo Domingo.
furthermore the price is hidious. Breasts can be done for much less--in the neighborhood of RD$20-25,000 at excellent clinics in Santiago..

And I am not a doctor, just a spectator!!

Your friend is paying way too much money for what she is getting done. There is a Dr. in Santo Domingo who is a memeber of the Board of Plastic Surgeons in Dominican Republic . he doesnt charge as much as what your friend is paying.. I also seen his results he does excellent work and I am going to him in June To get work done on my stomach, back, and waist. My friend went to him and he did the same to her she was like a size 11/12 before and she is now a beautiful size seven. She looks great. His name is Dr. Hector Cabral Guerrero He did his post graduate in France and he is located in santo Domingo at Instituto Cirugia Especializada Av. P.S. if you don't want to go with the Dr. I recommended then you could co to www.Ipraf.org there is a list of plastic surgeons in Dominican Republic most are in Santo Domingo and a few in Santiago. Well it depends what you want done on the price. I am having my work done on June 29th. You would have to have a consultation with him. I had my consultation back in February when he was here in NY. Call him he is a very nice man and honest also. If he feels that you don't need anything done he will tell you. I can tell you that when I went for my consultation there were over 100 women there and that was only that day he still had three more days of consultations.

Seems this guys has had his share of problems as to licensing, so be weary...Caveat Emptor!
Suggest that Kathy's idea of goin to that site be followed.

My bets are that he is not recognized here...

Let me state for the record that my wife has 20 plus years in the medical field (hospital setting) and "lets say for the sake of argument" she knows a physician or two in the DR. The dollar amount quoted for medical services to be performed seems bit pricey when compared to the "going rate" here in California, the land of "plastic people". I'm only guessing here, but I think your good friend is being given the special "Gringa" discount adjustment, remember it's JUST a guess on my part. We know a VERY competent board certified plastic surgeon in our area that MIGHT review your friend's case and then discus a fee structure.
