Fully equipped Gym in P.Plata area

Does anyone know if a good one exists in/near Puerto Plata/Playa Dorada? Will be there in January for 2 weeks and need to pump iron!

The best you will get in Playa Dorada is at Playa Naco. If you are not staying there you pay a weekly fee - not too much. There are a few machines, and a some free weights.

There are a few gyms in town, okay no airconditioning but if all you wantis to lift they have the hardware.

If you want to spend the money and time to get to Sosua there is a nice gym there 2 levels, machines, free weights classes (of sorts)

Of course you could always take advantage of excersing in the open air.

Check out American Gym on Calle Seperacion. The owner lived in NYC for a while and was a competitive bodybuilder. I believe it costs $40 RD per day (I'm not too sure since I had a monthly membership). Good luck.

Any more info about the gym in Sosua? What kind of equipement is there? How much is a monthly membership? Location? Name?

It is the Golden Gym on the right off the highway, take a left at Case de Sol or whatever the name of the nightclub is this week.

They have amonthly fee of 350 pesos with a onetime subsciption fee.
You can get day passes, week passes or pay a whole year in advance.

You will find free weight, nautilus, stairmasters, eliptical, bikes, treadmills. There is an outside work out space.
