I work for a TV station in Canada (CBC) and we just aired the press conference that Felipe Alou was fired and they have already named someone as manager of the Expos. His name is Jeff something. I've never heard of the name before.

It is definitely a sad day here in Montreal. I don't believe the problem was with coaching but rather with upper management.

Felipe is great. They're stupid for firing him, but I guess that's just the way the Sxpos work. Let the great ones get away because they can't run their organization well enough to keep them, then try to blame Felipe for the fact they can't win. Look at Pedro Martinez, the greatest pitcher ever. Poor Vlad Guerrero is stuck there. I feel sorry for him.

We need a new stadium in Montreal. Unfortunately, the one we have now, we're still paying for it. It was built for the 1976 Summer Olympics. It's ungly, its roof fell a few times. It's not located in the best area in Montreal.

There are plans to build a new stadium in downtown Montreal, right next to the hockey arena which to me is the a good idea. Also, because of poor assistance, the organization doesn't have any money, hence, they let the best player leave such as Pedro Martinez. Let's not forget that some of the best players start their careers in Montreal. I believe that's what's going to happen with Vladimir Guerrero.

It is very sad to see Felipe go... many people knew this was coming. Clearly, this is Loria's strategy, since he acquired the team, to bring the team down in Montreal in order to be able to move it out to another US city. Felipe didn't get along with Loria or Beattie, but because he is a professional, he decided to stay. From the Montreal's fans point of view, Loria and his gang are all sobs.
I'm not worried about Felipe, he will go and manage another team which will be very lucky to get him... and they should pay him millions, for that priveledge. And you know what, Felipe will then come back to get Guerrero, Vidro and Cabrera,

Default Re: Don't Cry For Felipe!

Dont' cry for Felipe! Montreal is a sinking ship and anyone who gets out now will miss the fate of the Titanic.

Felipe will get pay good money to get out, while the owners are sinking in debt and bad baseball. Felipe will lose nothing. I suggest for him to get out of baseball and come enjoy our beaches and mountains and forget about that nasty weather in Canada.
