What did he do that was so bad ? Was he politically uncorrect ? Who took the decision ? Can you guys just ban us ? Please explain ?

I am not "you guys". I am just another guest here. Ask the webmaster. He will have the answer. And yes, he can ban you...an action I strongly disagree with.

Where are the Margaritaville Apts. and why are they defunct? May I ask?

Margaritaville was in Sosua....taken over by people who don't know what they are doing. Fired the staff without liquidation!!!!that means Dominican people, who I have been fighting for with no help. The hotel is no a shambles.
Why isn't Tom on this board??????/

I am using Tom F. I started posting on DR1 a few years ago and then the other Tom came aboard and I quickly added the F. so people would know we aren't the same. My last name is in my email so anybody can contact me directly and if people who knew me in the DR could find me if they want. Sandra and I have made contact. I have absolutely nothing to hide and please, feel free to email me directly if you want. This has happened a half a dozen in the last 2 years.

I do want to add that I have always been very cautious about posting on the board (except the last couple of days) due to people attacking you if you say something that isn't in agreement with their opinions. I really didn't know this board was set up to promote tourism. I used to read the Santo Domingo News and thought this was an extension of that. In my opinion I have seen Rob let many threads go and once something is said that might scare some tourist away, it gets deleted. I think I had a few deleted. For example when the I told the story about 2 men breaking into the rural isolated house I was living in outside Sosua, and getting my leg broken and head opened up. Yes, I'm still alive and kicking. They got US$300 and my wedding ring. I was back in two months hobbling around on crutches but will never live in a place without security exept for my sister-in-law's house near SFM. A European couple had the same thing happen to them at almost the same time this happened to me. It didn't scare me away from the DR but I am a bit more cautious and sleep with a bat next to my bed, even in here in NJ. I also jump out of bed at the slightest sound. If you live and work in Sosua you start to hear many a simiar story. Can't tell you if it is continuing for the last two years.

Margaritaville was a nice, cheap place to stay. The staff was very friendly (Sandra, Ken, the maid and the security guy). They gave it a shot and it didn't work out. People had jobs, they served great food, and I met a bunch of interesting people sitting aroung having dinner. The owner will live with this loss and chalk it up as a learning experience.
