mosquitoes

I would like to know why a lot of people talk about mosquitoes in Punta Cana. I went last Januray and I didn't see one. Is there a season or does it depend of the areas. I was at the Fiesta Palace.

It depends on both season and areas. If it has been very dry for a long time there will be less mosquitos. Also in dry areas there are generally few. Mosquitos need wet breeding grounds for their larvae.

they use alot of insecticides in many hotels to control the pests of many types. without asking see if any insects are alive & moving in the area, getals [lizard type animal] seem to tolerate the spread so ignore them. by the way check out them for afew minutes they have odd things about them, changing colors & eating lot of all types of pests is just afew of their tricks of the trade :=] qjack
