Import duties

All we want is a list of household items and the duty when we can take when we move to DR, (my wife is Dominican). We e-mail the Dom. Embassy in Wash. DC.
1-they send back a phone # for Dom. customs in DR.
2-my wife calls and gets a recording, press "0", gets a lady after 3 mins., she can't help and transfers her to another #, she can't help and transfers her to yet another #.
3-this time the lady says she has the list, YAHOO, but she can't fax it because the department has no money for faxes.
4-wife did'nt ask them to e-mail it, if they even have a computer.
5-so here we are back to square one.
