Barcelo Bavaro Beach Hotel

Does anyone have any info on the Barcelo Bavaro Beach hotel. Anyone stayed there ? What to expect ? Nice beaches ? Hot in July
and what kind of temperature ? What to see ? Any surf and surfboard rentals ? Best way to get around, car rental, bus, taxi's, guides ???? Looks really good in the brochure, looking forward to it !!!!
