Default Re: coconut palms resort

My family spent two weeks at this resort over Easter this year and this was our first time in the Caribbean. The first week the weather was wonderful, it rained only during the night and each morning we were greeted by sunny skies. The apartments were basic but clean and we wanted for nothing. There were always plenty of beds beside the pool to lounge on and we were not pressured into joining in any of the games - we just wanted to chill out after the long flight (10 hours). The second week gave a totally different aspect. It rained for two days solid and we spent long days in the apartment reading and playing cards etc. Our upstairs neighbours were very noisy and spent most of the night playing loud music and dragging around the furniture which woke us up on many occasions. We were the only English family there ( a quite reserved family) and all the other families were American or Canadian and out to have a good time. They started to sit out at the bar at 4pm (when Happy Hour started) and shouted and laughed all evening until the bar closed at 11pm. Before we went we read the reviews on Debbies Dominican Republic page (look this up and you will see a few bad ones) and we became worried but looking back I can see how some of the bad ones were arrived at because our experiences in the second week resembled a much different resort to the first week because of the clients staying there.
If you need any more information please do not hesitate to contact me again.
