!Oye Lic. Chris! Ever heard of a place in Chicago called 'Casa Dominicana'? I met a woman on our return trip from the DR - she was going there for a celebration.
Have a great time under the palm trees.

Thanks sweetie. I think its what we call the "Dominican Club" in Chicago (which terminated Presidentes) but I'm not quite sure. If its the place I'm thinking of, its in the Humboldt Park neighborhood which I'd be very careful about going to at night. Anyway, I can make an inquiry in the next 24 hours and get back to you. If I forget, don't be shy about giving me a wake up call as I'm kind of burning the candle at both ends trying to get my ducks in line to get out of town. Thanks for your wishes on this next trip.

I have been to casa dominicana (thats its name). Anyway Chris is right, it is in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, which can be a little tricky at night. However, not much of a club, but it has typical dominican music and can be fun.

The lady told me they do community services for the Dominican population, anything from English as a Second Language, to helping them buy a house, and everything in-between. Is this the same place?
Thanks to everyone.

I don't think it the same place. The place Joyce and I referred to is pretty much of a bar and place for socializing. I do know that they have a baseball or softball team they sponsor so they throw some events to raise money for that purpose. I don't know whether you are aware of it but there is some type of Dominican counsulate in Chicago that you may wish to refer inquiries of this nature to. The phone number is (312) 396-4014.

I thought you were gone already. I can't wait. Oh, living vicariously I guess.
Thanks for the information.
Have a great trip.
