Re: employment
Check out Club on the Green (Playa Dorada) and Playa Grande, two Robert Trent Jones courses here on the north coast. Not sure what your spanish level is at, or what kind of pay you are after, but Rubio is correct about the pay. Typically this type of trade is given to Dominicans who work for much less than you could live on. Then again, you may hit it at the right time when they are looking for someone with your skills and are willing to pay the $$ to get you here.
The golf courses I mentioned are located at Allegro-Occidental hotels. I have no web sites off the top of my head, but I am sure you can dig around and find them on the web somewhere.
Good luck

Re: employment
For heaven's sake, if the guy is looking for a job in dominican republic, why must we think that people from other countries always expect TOP PAY. worst yet, why do we believe that a dominican is willing to accept a job for less monies. Just because he is dominican? So, don't take their comments too hard, and just do what you got to do.

Re: employment
When international companies have their goods manufactured here, it is not because they have to pay $20/hr union wages, it is because Dominican labor is CHEAP. Not only do Dominicans accept jobs for less money, companies base multi-million dollar decisions on this very fact.
When someone comes from a first world nation with 11 years of experience as a greenskeeper, they are used to making much more money than a dominican grounds keeper. Minimum wage here is about $3000RD/mo. Someone with Chris' background will likely not consider this to be a liveable salary. Does he expect "Top pay", I have no idea. He asked the question, I just gave him my two cents.

Re: employment
You seemed like a person with a good educational background, unlike Criss. His idea is that ALL dominicans are crooks, probably that's what he is. In any event, Marc, I don't deny that some dominican have the necessity to accept cheap labor, but not all dominicans do the same. Especially middle class. Maybe, you ought to find them and see for yourself that we are a very proud and dedicated crowd.

Re: employment
I work with a staff of 60+ middle class Dominicans every day and understand their pride, and appreciate their skills. My post was not intended to portray them as un-proud(?).

Re: employment
Again, you are probably a person who knows high class "cheveres" people. I would like to be in your shoes, meeting all these proud dominicans who would probably blow Criss to the moon. Thank you for your response. Criss, eat your heart out!!!!!!.
P.S. Marc, tell your friends I'm looking for an opinion on "Needing help deciding a career".
