Default GOOD VS. Evil !

As I watched in horror two planes crashed into the Trade Center towers! Huge fire balls consumed the upper floors! The towers crashed to earth! I imagined the pain and suffering of those inside! A "Biblical" sensation overwhelmed me.For this was an event of biblical proportions. This was "EVIL" verses "GOOD". I feel like the "Village Fool" who runs around telling everyone that "The end is near!" I,m not worried about "innocent" civilians who will be killed when America responds to this attack.I am worried about the struggle of Good VS. Evil in the world! I will not condem and insult anyone,s point of view posted here. This is bigger than personal insults.We do not honor the lives lost insulting each other.Drastic times call for drastic measures! I,m sure those passengers on the hijacked airplanes tried to "negotiate" with the Terrorists! Begged them to stop! To what end? Was mercy shown? Evil shows no mercy to Good, and Good will show no mercy to Evil! The battle for the souls of Mankind has begun!Where do you stand? What sacrifice are you willing to make? TRW

The trademark of "good" is forgiveness and mercy. If you cannot show that, you are siding with "evil".

Susanne;

In the few months I have been reading this site, I have enjoyed your messages of reason and credibility. This time I must categorically disagree with your assessment.

If it is evil to seek out and punish those that killed over Five thousand innocent people, please let me be the first to say I am then an “evil” person, let me be the first to say the United States is “Evil” for what will surely happen in seeking to rid the World of terrorism, be assured that the widows and orphans, widowers and those that lost children or parents are also “evil” in there wish for punishment for those who committed this act.

Forgiveness is not an option when the very act would only make these Godless people bolder

Not this time, not this country, we have absorbed far more than our share of punishment from terrorist world wide simply because we are the shining beacon of freedom. Too many times we have been “good” or “humane” in our response, blowing up an ammunition dump or sand dunes, as of yet we have never given terrorists reason to fear us as we erred on the side of caution.

I read with interest several debates about the capabilities of various Military powers right on this site, Dominican against Cuban, US against who ever. Just watch, it will not be pretty, it will not be nice, it will not even be “good,” but you will soon see what happens when the mightiest military force ever assembled finally gets angry.

As I write this, I am watching the funeral of a Catholic Priest who was killed by falling debris at the WTC as he administered last rites to a firefighter who had given his life trying to save people from this tragedy. This is not “good versus Evil,” it is humanity against the inhumane

If your mother and father were on flight #11 from Boston you would feel differently! When Michael Dukakis (Former Gov. Ma.) was running for president he was against the "death penalty" He was asked ,during a nationally televised debate,what he would do if someone raped abd killed his wife? He mumbled that we need to forgive and rehabilitate even criminals who rape and kill.He lost by a "landslide!" Death is real and final! I will defend and avenge mine! TRW

I am not suggesting that we let these abominable people go free. I am strongly argumenting that we do not kill innocent people in the process.

A very close friend of mine was killed. I have cried my eyes out over this, and I am not finished. But does that give me the right to kill innocent people? Surely not.

Susanne,you are young and idealistic,as a young person should be.When I arrived in VietNam in 1970 I was as well.When I went to "The Bush", everyone looked about the same.What if a killed an "innocent" civilian? What should I do? I didn,t want to shoot at anyone! The Viet Cong and NVA were not so indecisive,they shot everyone, as I soon learned to do! No one gave me the "right," I just wanted to stay alive,and keep my buddies alive! War is not "Heck," War is "HELL!" Innocents die everyday in car accidents and in war.We don,t like it but it,s a fact.You and I are neither right or wrong on this issue,we just have different opinions.By the right of birth we live where we can express these opinions.We don,t fear that we will be put to death by our government because of our opinions,Can we say the same about those living in Afghanistan? PEACE!

Default DISASSOCIATION!!!

Susanne,
No one likes the thought of "innocent" people destroyed in a situation such as we have currently. HOWEVER, It has been five (5) days since this terrible act of war committed upon us. Those that associate with the responsible persons, either directly or indirectly, have had more than sufficient time (in my estimation) TO DISASSOCIATE THEMSELVES from these zealots. Even an idiot can see what is coming. Many major areas have already started evacuation procedures. All foreign Nationals are "getting the hell out of Dodge", and for good reason. Those that choose to stay with the perpetrators, do so at their own peril and at risk to life and limb. I believe that if you are not "for" me....then you must be "against" me.
