IMMIGRATION RESTRICTION/ URGENT U.S. AT WAR

Hi.. just wanted to know if anyone has heard of any possible immigration restrictions coming in the near future as the U.S. goes to WAR...I am planning to marry on December 23..to my fiance' in D.R. DOes anyone have any info or heard anything or how would I get info on this subject as it could change on a dime...I may end up deciding to live there with her in Curacao where she worked if there are too many problems...Right now there is only a PO> BOX address in Chicago IL for the new K3 Visa which allows newly married immigrants to US citizens to come in while they wait for the rest of the immigration process to be completed...there is only an address with no phone number to mail the completed info back to them from D.R> and in the meantime those hotels down there avg cost 200 to 350 dollars per person per night in some cases..luckily I found about a 250 dollar hotel which includes tax for 2 people per nite...
If I have to stay roughly 60 to 75 days waiting approval thats over 18750 dollars for the hotel stay ALONE..not including food, wedding, and Emergency Spending and moving expenses...any info someone ..pls this is URGENT Subject at this time for Citizens considering Marriage to someone in DR!

It sounds to me that you need PROFESSIONAL ADVICE and not the advice of "well meaning" people on this board. I would suggest you contact an immigration lawyer and if you can not afford his services, suggest you contact the immigrations service (INS) closest to where you live. If they don't process the request (K-3) they can certainly give you information on it. I do not think the individual has to live in Chicago while the K-3 is being processed. Again, do yourself a favor and solicit professional advice. Best wishes. ECH

I heard from a congressman that they gonna give the residence visa to inmigrants who died in the tragedy. this is not a joke.

My friend's wife got her visa to come to Canada on Wednesday. He had booked her flight with AA through Miami arriving in Toronto Wednesday but because airlines have put restrictions on any new immigrants, she has to wait until the 20th before she can board the flight. She's now on a flight arriving next Saturday.

That branch of INS also has an office in Chicago. I've been there. The door was always locked.

Just wondering when hotels got so expensive down there. When I married my husband in 96, our hotel on the Conde Peatonal was $40 a night. I guess you are talking ****. Have you tried the INS website? I have tried some e-mails off their site and actually once received a response.
