I'm a canuck also, proud of it. I'll take "Canadian" also, fits just fine.
As for the Gordon Sinclair thing, didn't anyone ever watch front page challenge! Of course Canada liked him. But just as anyone with such vocal and well published opinions, some weren't his biggest fans. Each to their own.
I do, however, find it unfitting to use his 1973 radio broadcast to relate to this tragedy. The US he was talking about is the US of 28 years ago, not the US of today. Granted, he may have exactly the same opinion today, had he not died 17 years ago, but who are we to say.
This was written during the withdrawl from Vietnam, and in support of people of that era. Why not leave them with this piece of history. There are plenty of new posts, articles, and radio adresses being written in support of the US. In fact the best one I have read to date was posted by ECH, MD on this board.
If diving into the archives from 28 years ago to find a time when someone said something in support of the Americans makes you fell better, that's fine. I just think it is inappropriate.
Then again, maybe I have just snapped after receiving this in my Inbox for the 100th time
take care
