Default Good morning, sunshine! :o)

I just got my last roll of film back from a few months ago. I'm feeling nostalgic this morning. Boy, I really miss DR. sigh

"top secret" location fresh water lagoon, where I made my daily pilgrimage to swim...

With all of the heaviness in the world lately, I thought this might be a brightener to share. Anyone else got pictures from our favorite "home away from home"? )

Default wow...nice. more pics?

I guess I must have missed those before. Thanks! )

I haven't been to Samana, but I have been along the entire Southern coast and loved it. Northern coast tour from Samana and Los Haitises parque to Monte Cristi is next! I'm more of a hiker and nature enthusiast than a tourist, so...

Great pictures!! Just a small correction, if you will permit me. The picture you have titled "Columbus House" is actually the Cathedral of Santo Domingo or Santa Maria la Menor finished in 1540...first cathedral in the Americas. Again, great photos!

Default Iguanas

Iguanas are treated with allot of suspicion. In the desert region near Barahona some people eat them. It is believed that they slice goats in half with there fins. Once we had one in an office there that bit my steel toed boot and left a large hole. But it was my fault for playing with a wild animal. There are still many Iguanas left in the DR but locals need to be educated so that they are not added to the endangered species list.
