SAND CRITTERS

I'm going to the great DR on November 1st, since then I've tried to do my research....I've heard different things about SAND FLEAS. Are they a real problem? If I lie on the beach at night will I most certainly be covered by sand fleas?? Your responses will be greatly appreciated.

we do have on some places sandflies - depends where you go! These are very small and hard to see, but you feel the bite immediately and it can hurt for two weeks!

And we have moskitos!

But take some precautions and enjoy your stay!

They are not a real problem at all. Women seem to be bitten more than men for some reason (on the legs), not sure if it is sand flies or not...

There are some mosquitos, but honestly, there are no real biting bug problems here.

By the way .. the mosquitos got us really bad. About 5/6 bites each night, indeed on the legs. They itch like hell and when they bite us, we got big marks/bumps on our legs which stayed for a few days!
