Is Dominican Republic a Country?

Yes it is a country of about 8 million people.

Yes, it is a countrie with about 8.5 million ppl and it shares the island with another countrie called Haiti. The Dominican Rep. has everything to offer that any city in the U.S.A. has. When it comes to tourism, I believe it has more bang for your buck than any other destination. It is not the cheapest place to go, but it is cheap(it also has some high end resorts, that has rooms that can go for as much as 2500.00 U.S. per night)and has very much to offer. Check it out.....I believe you'll like it!!!

I was a near graduate, a professorial assistant, honors, GREs in the upper percentiles, knew the 50 capitols, could name every capitol in Latin America (read Central and South America), had been around the world.

I got a telegram from the Peace Corps. "You are going to the Dominican Republic..." I "knew" where it was-after thinking a bit...but to check up, I got a college handbook on the Caribbean, and there it was: Ciudad Trujillo, Dominican Republic-----> On the Left side of the Island!!!!

I used to save that copy, just to show people how little we knew, we knew....
