Default cigars

Suppose I spend about 190 pesos for a PARTAGAS cigar made in the
DR. Does anybody know what's in it? Is it good honest DR tabacco
which only an expert can distinguish from a CUBAN harvest or
could it be worst case lettuce leaves?

Default Re: cigars

If you have to ask you should not buy it. Cigars are for people who know cigar smoking. Go smoke a Dominican Cremas cigarrillo. That may be your forte. Lettuce leaves? How about Broccoli. Give x-man an F for stupid post of the week.

Default Too bad I didn't see this before...

Look X: If you bought the cigar at a good cigar store, it is probably legit. Which means it is made here from tobaccos that come from here, honduras, nicaragua, brazil, cameroon or other places, BUT NOT from Cuba.

Partagas is made by General Cigar/Swedish Match Co. in Santiago, and if they are sold on the local marker, they have paid 25% taxes + 12% ITIBIS+ (probably) 31% import taxes. I don't know that General is selling their products here, but if you bought it at a National Supermarket or one of the very good cigar stores
in Santo Domingo-like the one over by the Metro Station, then you got a good cigar.
If it was bought on the beach-well you got taken..
