Default SNOW IN DR

I'VE READ IN A PREVIOUS POST THAT YOU CAN FIND SNOW UP IN THE DOMINICAN MOUNTAINS (?) I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT GETS COLD IN THE MOUNTAINS AROUND CONSTANZA, AND THEY HAVE EVEN REGISTERED TEMPERATURES BELOW 0 DEGREES CELCIUS (32 F) AROUND THE TOWN OF CONSTANZA, BUT I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS.
CAN ANYONE COMFIRM THIS?

I GUESS IT WOULD BE COOL TO BE ABLE TO GO SKIING UP THOSE MOUNTAINS, BUT KNOWING THAT IT IS WARM DOWNSLOPE TO GO TO THE BEACH!!!

i heard of snow on Pico Duarte when I lived there in the sixties. I saw it show on Blue Mountain Peak in Jamaica and it is not as high as Duarte.

BTW, in case you're new, typing in CAPS is considered yelling and is not polite. It took me a while to find that out.

Snow in DR? Not in your wildest dreams. Ice caps can be formed in the Cordillera Central highest peaks like Duarte, La Pelona,Mt. La Rusilla and Alto de Bandera Peak near Constanza where temperature can go as low as 32 degrees. But snow has never been recorded. It would even be hard to support man made snow even in winter. Giant hale happens quite a bit.

Default skiing in D.R.

If you show up with snow skis in the D.R. they will take you straight to the looney bin with herbal cancer cure salesmen and their virginal brides.

P.S. dont try to ski in Ohio either. Low altitude, not cold enough.

Hey don't just discriminate against Ohio. I can tell you that anybody who skis in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and for that matter most eastern states is waisting his time. It means skiing in icy slopes with man made snow and short trails. Some of these slopes even have ice and uncovered grass. About the best slopes are in upstate New York at Hunter Mountain. You might as well take up your skis and go to Pico Duarte.

The best skiing even better than Vail is in Canada in the rockies. In Whistler and Sunshine.

Yeah, but Canada won't let me bring my .44 Super Redhawk (2x leupold scope for those that care) to fend off the grizzlies and Zolcuatas!

In Colorado we'll probably issue you a conceal and carry permit!

Hell that thing has a 10"barrel. Concealment is not an option! In Ohio we only have black bears and they are scared of you. The Zolcuatas only come out when its hot. I would like to get out there and check you guys out though.

Took a jabalí last year with a .357. It was charging me and was gonna fix me up good. I finally dropped him 10 yards from me. The guide said it sounded like someone started a war! The meat was smelly so I gave it away. People thought I was being nice.
