Default Board guidelines

Rob it is;

My suggestion would be to give the board a 4-5 day trial without ANY guideleines or deletions. You then simply ask those who are intrusive to leave. I beleive you will find that men and women who posess honor will comply.

For those that don't, simply ask your honorable people to not reply to anything posted by these sub humans and I think you will find an answer that not only is effective but prevents you from being the "bad guy"

If you still have a few dissidents, any decent people will pay then no heed and they will soon wither and tire of their childish ill conceived messages

Default This is not reality, sorry...

I have been building and marketing websites since 1995 and my six years of experience has shown me that this will never happen.

I have seen too many other message boards go down the toilet that have tried or taken this approach. Not here!

My first step would be to disallow anonymous proxies...if someone needs to hide their identity, I question the credibility of their advice.

We will now watch as "AZB" does a 180 degree "about face" to get inline with Rob,s position! "AZB", sometimes it is better to "sandbag" for a while before taking a "position" you don,t really support! Criss

I am all in favor of improving this board to better inform our readers on current DR issues and current events. I always try to dig out something to warn or inform on the current events in Santiago, if not the whole DR. Just read my posts regarding the cell phone companies, traffic rules in-effect and etc. Now see what have you contributed in the recent days? Something original and informative.
I don’t have to worry about Rob. He and I know where we stand on certain issues and whom we both would like see disappear from this board.
I would obey by every rule and continue to respect the contributors to DR1 as long as same person extends the same courtesy to me.
Anyhow, I will refrain from engaging in any sort of heavy debate on who is kissing up to whom.
Have a nice day criss (soon to be an extinct specie on DR1)

Perhaps you are correct. I was assuming there to be a basic core of decent honorable people that would take up the slack, I am mistaken. Already "Ceemor" tries to make a cheap shot by implying anonymous postings are the problem. It would be beyond his intellectual level or experience to understand that some of us post from very recognizable corporations and do not wish email or remarks from his type of riff raff.

You know all too well that about all you know about Ceemor are his ISP and IP where you don't mine, hardly an issue to you.

I guess you are correct; when you deal with children, you must treat them as such.

Could be time to go back to observing the very unremarkable posts of the Ceemoors and the Criss's that infest this board

Default Why Not? Just my 2¢

Manfred has an "adult approach" to this thing. Rob has a "practical" viewpoint.

My few years experience of surfing the web and especially chatrooms or message boards-eclectic at best has been this.

Passwords do not work. Assholes are just that and they will get around passwords, do aliasis, fake up identities, and so forth.

Passwrods tend to limit free participation. Without free access we would not get the "kens" of this world, or the "hillbillies" or the "PIBs" (not really but you know what I mean). My experience indicates that if you *oblige* posters to use an e-mail address, like this post, you tend to intimidate the a**holes at least a bit...since they can then be attacked in their home computers or office computers..

Passwords complicate the system, and I do believe in K.I.S.S.

The "DELETE" priviledge of the webmaster is the ultimate power, and if used wisely, can be an effective deterrant.

Again, this is just my 2¢ worth.
