My first trip to DR

Hello, I am in the beginning stages of planning a 1 week vacation for February and am think of the Dominican Republic. Where is a nice place to go? I am looking for a relaxing place on a nice beach. Some nightlife but nothing extravagant. Any ideas are welcome.

parisio del sol in cabarete,beauty resort,long beach,also casa marina beach,and reef in sosua do not go to the club marina.there is the estral del mar also in cabarete.Check the resort reviews on this site it will give you a general idea on what to expect.

Our favorite place is PierGeorgio Palace, Sosua. With the price of the room you get breakfast each day, chairs at the beach and towels. You can then spend the rest of the day exploring this wonderful little town. Sosua has many wonderful restaurants at very reasonsable prices, many outdoor cafes, bars, discos, casino and shops. Close by is Cabarete - which is also wonderful but the beach is busy with windsurfers and of course there is more wind there (or so it seems).

Check with your travel agent if you want to stay at a resort..all inclusive. My friends in America just told me they saw a trip to Punta Cana for under $600 for 1 week. I went to Punta Cana my first time and it was very beautiful.

Going back to La Romana with the most magnificent beach at Casa del Mar. CDM is not a maega resort which I'm getting tired of..walking miles and miles to everything. Personally, we hated Puerta Platta..too many rude and I do mean rude Europeans. Did enjoy the Catalonia Bavaro last year with their nice beach (not as gorgeous as La Romana), magnificent pool, etc. but it's another mega sized resort with people getting up at 7:00 a.m. to reserve palapas..

Don't choose Casa Marina if you are going to Sosua! If you will enjoy Sosua, you should choose a hotel without all inclusive.
If you want a holliday on an all inclusive resort, you will be better of elsewhere.

Don,t worry about getting a lounge chair this year,there are lots of "empty" everything! The economic down-turn,and the terrorist attack have seen to that!Criss
