Default Help Needed With Immunization Records

I recently relocated my future wife and daughter from the DR to the US. Upon arrival they turned over their records including immunization records to the INS as required. I am trying to get my daughter into schol and the school requires proof of immunizations. The local INS office has been no help in this matter and says it will take from 3 to 6 mos. for them to release the records. I was advised the best course would be to get the records from the DR. I do not speak spanish well and have trouble understanding it when spoken rapidly. I contacted the embassy who advised me to speak to Sidelia Who is the supervisor (of what and where I do not know) at 809 682-3951 to get information about getting the records. When I call this number I am unable to make myself understood. Can any one help me to get or suggest how I might get copies of immunization records for a Dominican child? Any help is appreciated-Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge, immunization records are not publicly archived nor does the public health system keep these. Every mother/person must keep their own records or these are kept jointly with the pediatrician. If your wife does not have a record or her pediatrician, then I would say no such record exists. But then you say you gave proof of these to the INS. If you can locate the source of the record, you can probably get this statement again.

She can also have a blood test taken and it will indicate which vaccines she already had taken.

Jim, just out of curiosity, did you apply for a fiance visa in order to relocate your future wife? I am doing the same and want to know how long it has taken you since you first sent in the application? The INS has told me that it will take approximately 3 months IF the INS has not gone over their visa "quota" for the year. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
