larimar, corals, dominican dolls (I am told they have no face because of the diversity in appearance/skin color of Dominicans), art (a dime a dozen but I find it pretty and every once in a while you'll see an original), etc.

If your in S.Domingo and can go through the Mercado Modelo you can look for items in mahogany, coffee (beans and ground) and at Altes de Chavon there is a craft shop that sells dresses and t-shirts made by local women. For a friend that is a musician I have sent him an instrument made out of metal played with a thingamagig.. sorry I don'tknow the name and a few merengue tapes.

Default that instrument sounds like a guiro *PIC*

Those ceramic faceless dolls are very popular and you could probably almost make a business of them.

Pib,

To type "ü" on your computer, hold down the ALT key and type on the numeric pad 0-2-5-2.

Default Where can I find all that?

I have a laptop at home, I am too poor to afford a regular keyboard (taking donations now) and I have an English keyboard wich I can "switch" to Spanish. And since I am not a professional typist when I am using the Spanish keyboard I have to fumble around punching all the keys untill I find the character I need, takes me half an hour to find "¡" and "¿". Maybe having a list taped on my desk will help. If you have it written, can you pls. email it to me?

Thx,
Pib
