I am a single American about to buy a home in Santo Domingo after working very hard in the US and vacationing in Santo. Although, I only plan on visiting/ staying in my Santo home about 4-8 months per year, I would like to know the pro's and cons of getting Permanent Residence in the DR. Also, can anyone expain the process or supply the details(incuding the names of lawyers who handle this issue) as to what I need to do to apply for Permanent Residence and the approximate costs and time lines.
you want to have a licensed firearm or bring in a sea container full of personal effects (not likely worth the trouble). I think you will find the $100 visa a cost effective and convenient compromise.
