Default postal money order

Could someone tell me what is the best rate for postal money order?
Are they as widely accepted as US $ traveler's checks etc.?
Reason asking is that one can buy $700 usd money order for only
80 cents vs. $7 for trav. ck's

Most money changers will not change postal money orders-I'm not sure why-you're better off using traveler's checks or your ATM card.

the problem is that U.S. Postal Money Orders have a note at the bottom that says: "Negotiable Only In The U.S. and Possessions".
They (money changers) won't touch them with a ten-foot pole.

Cash.Traveller's Checks.ATMs are much better.

be careful of U.S Post Office money orders. A local friend gave me two money orders he was UNABLE to cash here. It clearly stated on the face of the order that it was payable only in the US. He signed them over to me; and I mailed them to my US bank for deposit. Upon receipt of deposit; the locan friend will get re-imbursed.
