What's the country bird or flower?

Can someone please tell me what the country's bird or flower is? Thank you.

I think it is the Cotorra-the species that is native to the DR/Hispañola Island. this is the parrot that is green with red shoulders .
I think that the flower is the hibiscus, but don't ask me to be your Second Chance.....

I think the cotorra you're referring to is commonly called cigua palmera. The hibiscus flower doesn't sound like the national flower, BUT I could be wrong. For some reason, I am thinking of something else...but the name escapes me right now.

The cigua is like a sparrow. I, too, will look up that National Flower thing...I think there was a stamp issued on this..

National Bird... not sure but the D.R. National Emblem... is the Mahogany flower..... the oldest surviving use of Mahogany is said to be in the Cathedral at Santo Domingo, 1550....
