Re: Deleted Messages & rabble rouser
CES, you are very welcome. if ever there was a post that could have developed the level of tolerance shown by participants here, then yours was the one to do it. i'm sorry i didn't save it.
now, for a bit of levity: i have an image of the powers-that-be at DR1 standing in front of their terminals, doing their best Jack Nicholson impression just before they hit the delete button...."TRUTH, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH".......

{:} Sarah, R.R., & the DARK SIDE {!}
Hi Sarah, & R. R.,
Sarah, I believe you have just recently started posting on DR1? Some time ago forces from the "Dark Side" perpetrated a visitation on the DR1 Board and laid waste to many a thread. This calamity caused the launching of the "Bravenet Forum" and in so doing, gave every one the chance to speak their mind. As is the nature of an unmediated 'forum', from time to time, the 'jackals' well lope in and cause some trouble with mindless calls (posts) and theatrics. The "Bravenet" will survive all attacks if correspondents such as yourselves will continue visiting.
R.R., your sense of humor is on a parallel to my own, although I would have taken the Peter Sellers caricature from "Dr. Strangelove" and placed him in front of the computer: "Und now vee vill RreyMOVE zes messZAGE FOREVER!" )
Regards,
. . . CES

Re: {:} Sarah, R.R., & the DARK SIDE {!}
True. I just discovered DR1 towards the end of March. This is my first such board to visit/post to. I feel like I have some contributions to make. However, it has been made quite clear to me that I do not know it all...darn! But life is about learning lessons, some harder than others. I've enjoyed learning something new every day since my first visit - about the DR and about myself! I appreciate those who come here to learn and those who are here to advise. The humor at the expense of others is the thing that bothers me. And censorship...I actually asked DR1 for that after the guy posted, in great detail, his experience the night before and asked if the girl could get pregnant. Now if that belonged here, surely my post on respect did. But I guess I don't know it all, huh? And I learned that if you censor one thing, where do you stop? So I guess at the risk of being unfair to anyone, I'd have to now vote not to censor at all. But that's a call that Robert and Delores have to make on behalf of their advertisers, right? Hum...are you suggesting I try the Bravenet? I've looked at it. It seemed pretty similar to DR1. I'll give it another look. Have a good evening, Sarah

Re: {:} Sarah & the DARK SIDE {:}
Hi Sarah,
Yes visit the "Bravenet" eventually you'll see some interesting threads. There will be many opportunities to use your critical thought process to write something relevant. Sort of a chance to exchange words with clever people from around the world and at times some not so clever.
The "Bravenet Forum" has one written rule: ***"There are NO written rules"***. There is an understood guide line. This unwritten caveat is: "Please do not use foul or egregiously abrasive language". The web master will ask you to stop and if you continue using offensive material then he will block your address from posting. If you continue he will certainly contact your ISP.
So Sarah, please visit the "Bravenet". . . . > > > >

Maybe it got archived?
Every few weeks we archive the messages otherwise the board takes too long to load. Check the archived messages.

Re: Maybe it got archived?
Come on Rob. I'm speaking of posts in this particular thread that were dated June 1 and forward. I can find them by searching for posts by my name, but they do not appear on the board. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone! What gives?

Re: Maybe it got archived?
As you know, yesterday we moved the board and archive (40,000+ messages) to a new host. I will look into it to see whats happended. The Message Board database will be re-built tonight, hopefully that will solve the problem.
