what steps to take to move there?

As an american citizen fully bilingual (my mother is Dominican born) and looking to relocate to that beautiful country. What are some of the steps that i should consider prior, also how is the job market there?. I am hoping to get set up with an American Company there, any ideas?

If you are considering relocating to the DR, regardless of whether you are a Dominican or have lived here in the past, you should purchase the Living in Santo Domingo book that is full of helpful tips.

Finding a job in the DR is no different than anywhere around the world. The best jobs come from who you know. The economy is booming so there are lots of jobs for qualified persons. Being hired from abroad will provide the better wage and benefits package, but it is harder to get these kinds of jobs.

You should plan on an extended vacation period and come and check things out. Also, keep in touch by reading the DR1 Daily News from which you can extract leads to jobs.
