CODETEL AGAIN ??

We've been putting up with CDE Crap for the past month but has anyone else been having problems with Codetel servers in the past 2 days?

Yes, for the past several days Codetel's internet service has gotten worse again. I say "again" as since mid-December we've had serious problems with connecting (and staying on) here in Las Galeras. I complained bitterly for 6 MONTHS and told them there was an equipment problem in the microwave signal but they wouldn't believe me. Even after I complained to a Vice-President in Sto Dgo it still took almost a month more for them to fix the problem. It was as I suspected, a bad transmitter here at the tower site in Las Galeras.

Now that there are several new phone companies on-island, Codetel better get it's act together or they're going to lose a lot of business.

I don't scare anybody, just simply tell it like it is. A LOT of people I know here are looking and waiting for an alternative to Codetel's Internet and Telephone Services. And it must be true because there are now two new communication company's, one American from Puerto Rico and the other is European, starting up and they are big enough to give Codetel serious competition.

Like I said, Codetel better get it's act together.

I know I have been have a real hard time to call a cell phone on the codetel network. It appears to be equipment and not the phone. I can not even get the normal "all circuits are busy" recording. first 4 days of the problem it was telling the phone was not in service. Seems like service is getting worse and not better. The news here this morning is Bell Atlantic and GTE are going to merge. Isn't GTE the parent of Codetel?
