I didn't say anything like that. I asked a question. If it is true the money is simply going towards more government administration, then the money is poorly spent and then I understand the bitterness.
The point is: Ciberstew makes a statement but I cannot judge whether it is a good or bad thing untill I know what the money is spent on.
Apart from that: In the Scandinavian countries (and they are by no means Xanado) a very large amount of all taxes go towards free health care (doctors and hospitals), free basic and university education and unemployment benefits. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on point of view. It certainly does not make everyone happy - but I do believe it provides close to equal opportunities for all. How you want to use your opportunities is entirely up to you. But you are not disadvantaged materially speaking from birth even if your parents aren't rich.
