Default Technical - motherboards - hard in DR

I know this is is a little bit out of phase with the "normal"
discussions on this board! But:

Anyone know a good site to find actual electronic schematics of
motherboards? Have an M5SIB (biostar) that died due to our
beloved electricity company, as well as an 748LMRT with
one dead line input channel.

These "guys" are my "lifeline" to the outer world, and
board-level service isn't even to think about here. (I'm
probably the only one who have ever done such things)

Default I think I would visit PUCMM in Santiago

And if they can't get the information for you (Talk to Alejandro Liz) I would try Cecomsa on Av. Bartolomé Colón out towards Gurabo (turning right at Haché.

Hope this helps..

Might also try INFOTEP as they sometimes teach computer mechanics, but I don't know how advanced they might be.

Also the site on the Internet of the manufacturer of the MB..

maybe you should just buy another mother since they are relatively cheep. Its almost like taking a $100 VCR and getting it fixed for $75 and hour.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the answers, I might clarify: RD$ 1000 represents
2 1/2 month rent for me. Even that is sometimes hard to
achieve. That's why I'm searching for schematics and
information - it took me quite some hard work to save
up for this old one (RD$ 750), just to see it burn
before I even saw (heard) the first POST.

"Kinky" thing is that it "feels" like just a power circuitry
problem - checked the obvious transistors, but no go.
Due to ATX specs, there must be a latch somewhere, just a
matter of tracking it down...(sigh...)

My old '748 is mostly working, but sometimes refuses
on a DIMM socket problem. Insects, dust, whatever, but it
can take a day of cleaning and retrying until it settles.
Stupidly bought one 128 Mb card instead of two 64's - no
backup...

Tired. /Gunnar
